SOund eXchange.

a command line utility from http://sox.sourceforge.net for converting sound files. we compile this only on windows. linux system typically come with sox pre-installed, so we don't bother. for a very nice compile of sox, we recommend that you also include libogg, libvorbis, libmad (and maybe LAME)
